Campaign Finance Reporting

Minnesota statute §211A.02, subd. 6 requires local governments with websites to upload political campaign reports for local government candidates based on jurisdiction population and dollar amounts spent.   The reports are required to be available on the website for at least four years.

Listed below are the candidate campaign finance reports for Lyon County elected officials/candidates related to 2018, 2016 and 2014 elections.  

Applicable city, school district, or town clerks with 400 or more registered voters as of January 1 of the election year and with websites are responsible for candidate filings within those entities.

The below list of properties were not sold at a public auction and may be purchased by paying the basic sale price, plus the applicable fees and costs, with cash, check or money order at the Lyon County Auditor/Treasurer’s office (2nd floor of Government Center at 607 West Main St in Marshall). The basic sale price cannot be changed until the parcel is reappraised, republished, and again offered at a subsequent public auction.

REMINDER: FIRST HALF 2018 PROPERTY TAXES ARE DUE TUESDAY, MAY 15TH

Payments for Lyon County parcels can be brought to the Auditor/Treasurer’s office on the 2nd floor of the Government Center, placed in the drop box in the parking lot off South 7th St Map, paid online via the County website (www.lyonco.org) or mailed.

Envelopes mailed must be postmarked May 15th or before, or Minnesota statute requires a penalty be imposed.  The postmark date is important - - mail early.

Using the drop box allows you to provide payment after hours, avoid lines inside, and to save on postage.

Credit/debit card payments are available online or in person at the Auditor/Treasurer’s office.  Card users will be charged a convenience fee by the vendor.

Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.  For faster service please bring or send your statement stub(s) and write the parcel number(s) on your check.

Notice of Expiration of Redemption

TO: ALL PERSONS WITH A LEGAL INTEREST IN THE PARCELS OF REAL PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN THE ATTACHED NOTICE

You are hereby notified that the parcels of real property described below and located in Lyon County, Minnesota, are subject to forfeiture to the state of Minnesota because of the nonpayment of delinquent property taxes, special assessments, penalties, interest, and costs levied on those parcels.

The time for redemption from forfeiture expires if a redemption is not made by the later of (1) 60 days after service of this notice on all persons having an interest in the parcels or (2) May 14, 2018. The redemption must be made in the Auditor/Treasurer’s office.

FAILURE TO REDEEM THE LANDS PRIOR TO THE EXPIRATION

OF REDEMPTION WILL RESULT IN THE LOSS OF THE LAND AND

FORFEITURE TO THE STATE OF MINNESOTA.
