MN DL/ID Information

Beginning October 1, 2018 Standard, Enhanced, and REAL ID will be available to Minnesota residents.

There is no rush to get a REAL ID compliant card. REAL ID is not required for air travel or entering Federal facilities until October 2020. For Federal facilities, please check ahead of time if additional identification will be required. 

 

Pre-applications are now available online! Fill out the application ahead of time and save some time at the office.

  • In order to apply for a REAL ID compliant driver's license or identification card, you'll need to provide documents that meet certain requirements.

  • Only Minnesota residents who are also United States citizens and at least 16 years of age may apply for an Enhanced Driver's License or Enhanced Identification card. 
  • Enhanced Driver's Licenses and Identification Cards applications are available at the Lyon County Auditor/Treasurer's office by appointment only. Appointments are scheduled for 45 minutes and are available Wednesday to Friday from 9:00am to 11:15am and 2:15pm to 3:45pm. To schedule an appointment or inquire about availability, please call 507-537-6724 option 3.

Reminder: Second Half Property Tax is Due Oct 15th / Nov 15th

REMINDER: SECOND HALF 2018 PROPERTY TAXES ARE DUE MONDAY, OCTOBER 15TH / AGRICULTURAL PROPERTY AND MOBILE HOME DUE NOVEMBER 15TH

Second half 2018 real estate property taxes are due on Monday, October 15th.  Most agricultural property and mobile home taxes are due November 15th.  Please check your tax statements for the official due date on your properties.

Notice of Expiration of Redemption

TO: ALL PERSONS WITH A LEGAL INTEREST IN THE PARCELS OF REAL PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN THE ATTACHED NOTICE

You are hereby notified that the parcels of real property described below and located in Lyon County, Minnesota, are subject to forfeiture to the state of Minnesota because of the nonpayment of delinquent property taxes, special assessments, penalties, interest, and costs levied on those parcels.

The time for redemption from forfeiture expires if a redemption is not made by the later of (1) 60 days after service of this notice on all persons having an interest in the parcels or (2) May 14, 2018. The redemption must be made in the Auditor/Treasurer’s office.

FAILURE TO REDEEM THE LANDS PRIOR TO THE EXPIRATION

OF REDEMPTION WILL RESULT IN THE LOSS OF THE LAND AND

FORFEITURE TO THE STATE OF MINNESOTA.
