Human Resources

 

Human Resources administers the personnel policies and procedures adopted by the Lyon County Board as well as classification and compensation plans, performance planning and review programs, and maintaining personnel records for each employee. Human Resources coordinates the recruitment, selection, orientation, development, transfer, and separation of employees. Affirmative action, Civil Rights, Minnesota and Federal Family and Medical Leave Act, long-term disability, HIPAA and ADA compliance are also major functions of the office.  The office coordinates and administers employee benefit programs for all departments, and works closely with Lyon County Administration and the County Board. In addition, Human Resources  supports all Lyon County divisions and departments in the areas of:

 

  • Staff training
  • Employee Relations
  • Leads County wellness initiatives
  • Labor Relations
  • Employee Health & Safety 
  • Risk Management/Workers Comp
  • Employee Recognition Awards
  • Grievance and Disciplinary Action

2017 Temporary Seasonal Parks Position

LYON COUNTY, MN
Temporary Seasonal Park Position

Lyon County is accepting applications for a temporary seasonal position in the Parks department. Approximate start date of May 8, 2017 through August 25, 2017.  Minimum Requirements: Minimum age 18.  Valid MN driver’s license required.  Hourly rate of pay starts at $9.50 per hour.  Application forms are available at the County Administrators Office located at 607 West Main Street in Marshall, MN 56258 or www.lyonco.org.  Submit completed application to County Administration, Attn: Human Resources, at 607 West Main Street, Marshall, MN 56258.  Lyon County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

On Call General Equipment Operator

The on call general equipment operator position will be required to operate a variety of equipment used in the repair and maintenance of highways and related areas for Lyon County.  Duties include, but are not limited to: operating specialized equipment; performing manual labor; performing preventative maintenance; and performing additional tasks as assigned by the Foreman.
