Human Resources

 

Human Resources administers the personnel policies and procedures adopted by the Lyon County Board as well as classification and compensation plans, performance planning and review programs, and maintaining personnel records for each employee. Human Resources coordinates the recruitment, selection, orientation, development, transfer, and separation of employees. Affirmative action, Civil Rights, Minnesota and Federal Family and Medical Leave Act, long-term disability, HIPAA and ADA compliance are also major functions of the office.  The office coordinates and administers employee benefit programs for all departments, and works closely with Lyon County Administration and the County Board. In addition, Human Resources  supports all Lyon County divisions and departments in the areas of:

  • Employee Relations
  • Leads County wellness initiatives
  • Labor Relations
  • Employee Health & Safety 
  • Risk Management/Workers Comp
  • Employee Recognition Awards
  • Grievance and Disciplinary Action

Lyon County is accepting applications for the position of a full-time Correctional Officer in the jail; females are encouraged to apply. Minimum Qualifications Include: high school diploma and valid driver’s license. The current range of hourly pay is $17.12-$23.96, with two pay increases in the first year of employment, and full county benefits. Correctional Officers work a rotating schedule of weekdays, weekends, holidays, as well as day & overnight shifts with opportunities for overtime pay. Assistant County Attorney

Assistant County Attorney
Lyon County, located in SW MN, is accepting applications for the full-time position of Assistant County Attorney. Duties include criminal prosecution, juvenile matters, child support and other duties as assigned. Salary range is $56,401.49 to $78,962.29 DOE. Become Involved In Local Government

The Lyon County Board of Commissioners invites applications from interested individuals to fill the following positions:

1 (one) position on the Lyon County Extension Committee.  This is a one (1) year term.

2 (two) positions on the Lyon County Natural Resources and Recreation Board.  This is a three (3) year term.

1 (one) position on the Marshall Lyon County Library Board. This is a three (3) year term.
