Lyon County recycles computer equipment, televisions cell phones, and other electronic waste at two locations, the Lyon County Regional Landfill, and the Lyon County Public Works Building.
COMPUTER MONITOR & TELEVISION (TV) BAN
All computer monitors, and televisions are banned from Minnesota landfills. This pertains to businesses, schools, governments agencies, not for profit institutions and households. However, these items can be brought to the landfill for RECYCLING. Another collection point for RECYCLING computer monitors and televisions is the Lyon County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) facility, located at the Public Works Building on Fairgrounds Road.

NON-RESIDENTIAL COMPUTER ELECTRONIC WASTE
In addition to computer monitors, and televisions, computers, printers, copy machines, scanners, and other electronic waste MUST be recycled by all business and commercial entities, as well as by all government agencies, schools, and not-for-profit organizations.
RESIDENTIAL COMPUTER ELECTRONIC WASTE
All residents must recycle personal monitors, and televisions. Although residents do NOT have to recycle personal computers, printers/scanners, or other electronic waste, Lyon County provides recycling services knowing that many residents want to do the right thing by recycling.
REUSE AND RECYCLING OPTIONS
If your computer equipmwent, or television is still functioning well, you could offer it to one of many organizations that frequently need useful computers such as churches, schools, or goodwill organizations.
