Twin Lakes Park is located at 1097 County Road 51, Ruthton, MN 56170, in Shelburne Township, Lyon County, Minnesota. Currently there are 15 campsites with electrical hookups, but additional sites are planned for 2020.

In 1895 Twin Lakes Park was a the site of School District 57, which later closed in 1947. In the 1950's Twin Lakes drew families from a 50-mile radius to enjoy the swimming beach on West Twin Lake and fishing on both West and East Twin Lake. Then in 2007 Lyon County Board of Commissioners purchased 27.5 acres from a landowner wishing to leave a legacy for others to enjoy. This land between East and West Twin Lakes is a draw for people from the neighboring counties of Lincoln, Pipestone, and Murray; as both lakes are considered to have good fishing in southwest Minnesota.

Opened in 2016, Twin Lakes Park is Lyon County's newest park; nestled between East Twin and West Twin lakes. Twin Lakes Park came to fruition from the desire of a local landowner to leave a legacy with land he owned. Other area landowners have also sold land to the County for future generations to enjoy camping and recreation in the area. Twin Lakes Park exists from partnerships, generous donations, and Clean Water Land & Legacy Amendment Funding. A plan for future campground development is in the planning stages. Lyon County hopes to secure additional State Legacy Grant funding in the future for expanding this beautiful park area.

Nestled in the oaks woods at the top of the old tubing hill, the Garvin Park Warming House provides a scenic vista view of the park; making this a great location in any season for your gathering; whether that is a family reunion, fun day for the kids, or a corporate retreat in a rustic setting. Lyon County has added some new luxuries to the Warming House. The building now offers a big screen television with a DVD player, rustic bar, and furniture to provide users with some inside entertainment on those too cold or wet to sled days. In addition, we have added some warm new touches to the décor, such as a few local pelts and some historic prints and signs that encompass the history of Garvin Park.”The Warming House is now called the Park Lodge and can be used for company get-togethers, family gatherings, sledding weekends, etc.
