YES:

Tin Food Cans - ends are

acceptable

Aluminum Cans, Pie Pans & Trays

Scrap Metals - iron, steel, copper, brass

NO:

Screw-on lids

No cans from items such as paint thinner or lighter fluid.

Rinse/clean. Remove & discard paper labels.

Crushing is optional

Bag aluminum separate from tin.

Make sure aerosol cans & paint cans are empty.

            PLASTIC

   CONTAINERS

YES:

Plastic Food Containers/Jugs coded with the #’s 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 7 inside the

NO:

Plastic bags/wrap, plastic toys, hose, pipe or containers without the acceptable code.

NO STYROFOAM!

Rinse/clean. Remove & discard caps & covers. No need to remove labels. Flatten jugs to save space. 

Drain oil jugs well & replace cap.

             PAPER

YES:

1.  Newspaper  2. White & Colored Office Paper such as typing, computer, writing & copy paper & envelopes without windows.  3. Magazines, Catalogs & Glossy Inserts  4. Phone books

NO:

Carbon paper, tissues, paper clips, rubber bands or fasteners of any kind, plastic or metal bindings, food wrappers.  No wet, greasy or dirty paper.

Bag paper items separately according to the categories listed under the ‘YES’ section.  

    CORRUGATED

      CARDBOARD

(& BROWN PAPER GROCERY BAGS)

YES:

The kind with the ribbed, wavy layer.

NO:

Wet, greasy or dirty cardboard or brown paper bags.

Break cardboard boxes down  into 3’ x  3’ pieces & bundle & tie it or bag it.

Bag brown paper grocery bags.
