Rechargeable Batteries   Rechargeable Batteries-Lithium (Li-ion), Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, Ni-Zn:
These types of batteries are often found in cordless power tools, cordless phones, laptops, cellphones, cameras, two-way radios, some medical equipment, rechargeable toys, scooters, hoverboards, vacuum cleaners, and battery-operated toothbrushes, among other devices. These are accepted for FREE at the Household Hazardous Waste Facility.
 Alkaline Battery, Remote control, toy car, camera, flashlight, keys, computer mouse  Single-Use Batteries-Alkaline:
These types of batteries are not reusable when they lose their charge. They can be found in remote control toys, keyless entry remotes, watches, hearing aids, memory backup fire alarms, TV remotes or flashlights. These are often button or alkaline battery types. THROW these batteries away: not recyclable in curbside bins or drops sites.
 CellPhone, iPhones, tablets  Cellphones and similar devices:
These types of batteries are often found in cellphones, iPad, tablets, Bluetooth headsets, wireless keyboard/mouse. These devices should come to the Household Hazardous Waste facility in their entirety for recycling. They are not accepted into household recycling. These are accepted for FREE at the Household Hazardous Waste Facility.
 Damaged Batteries  Damaged Batteries-Rechargeable only:
These types of batteries should be brought as soon as possible to the Household Hazardous Waste facility. Package the battery or device in a non-flammable material such as sand or kitty litter as soon as possible. Do not place these batteries in the trash or in recycling.
 Led Acid Battery, Power Packs, car battery

 Lead Acid Battery and Power Packs:
These types of batteries should be brought to Alter Metal in Marshall (hours Monday-Friday 7am-4pm), contact (507) 537-0517 or bring them back to a battery retailer for assistance.
